Web Host Industry Review Hosts San Francisco Networking Event

Web Host Industry Review Hosts San Francisco Networking Event

Hosting industry's leading publication continues success of Toronto event with ongoing series of eight North American events planned for 2009.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 9, 2009 -- The Web Host Industry Review (www.thewhir.com), the publication of record for the hosting business is excited to follow up the success of its January WHIR Networking Event in Toronto with its second event in San Francisco.

On January 29, 2009, the WHIR kicked off the event series with a networking evening in its home town of Toronto, Ontario. The San Francisco event will take place Wednesday, February 11, 2009, continuing the series of events with the second of eight, and the first held within the United States.

That series of events will continue throughout 2009, stopping in Dallas, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington DC.

"We think we're off to a great start, after our Toronto Event," says Stephen Mayhew, publisher of the WHIR. "We had a great turnout. And we've had a great response following the event, from both attendees and sponsors. There were lots of opportunities for both, and a lot of fun was had by everyone."

WHIR Networking Events are designed as opportunities for hosting professionals to meet and mingle with individuals in related businesses - to foster new business relationships and to help create a sense of local community in a business with a significant feeling of fraternity.

"We've been sponsoring networking lounges at industry events for a few years," says Mayhew, "and we've come to realize that people value that face-to-face interaction as much as any other aspect of the big hosting conferences. We wanted to find a way to provide our community of readers with a way to experience that without having to spend the time and money traveling to a major event."

WHIR Networking Events bring together web hosting company executives, hosting resellers, IT consultants and suppliers of hosting-related services to generate business and partnership opportunities, and to help develop local connections in a mostly-online business community. The events are a celebration of, and a vehicle for, the continued growth of the web hosting industry, which Tier 1 Research estimates the value of at $22.3 billion in 2008, $27.5 in 2009 and $33.7 billion in 2010.

Because the WHIR Networking Events are supported by the efforts of sponsors GigaPark and OpenSRS, they are free to attend, and food and drinks will be provided to attendees for free. The San Francisco event will be catered by Whole Foods, which will provide a selection of appetizers including lobster corndogs, Caprese salad skewers and salmon crostini.

The February 11 event will take place at stylish lounge Icon Ultra Club, designed by world renowned nightclub designer Charles Doell, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The WHIR editorial marketing staff will be on hand, and representatives from many prominent hosting companies have already registered to attend.

More information about the San Francisco event, the venue and other WHIR networking events is available at the WHIR's events website, http://www.whirevents.com. Registration is available online, and anyone interested in attending should RSVP as soon as possible, as space is limited.

Companies interested in information about sponsoring upcoming events can also find information at the www.whirevents.com site.
